MRA in CT is well positioned to play a key role in increasing voter participation in Latinx communities and communities of color and creating an environment where progressive issues dominate the campaign discussions.

While Connecticut is a Democratic stronghold, our members are committed to playing a key role in advancing truly progressive policies, holding elected officials accountable and, where they fall short, electing better Democrats. Local Council Members and School Board Directors could be much better on our issues, and the elections for these races often have very low turnout that makes influencing them easier. Our field work will focus on increasing turnout in these local elections, which are often won by mere hundreds of votes. 

Connecticut has a lot at stake in the 2022 elections. MRA in CT is located in Bridgeport and Hartford in two of the largest cities of the state. In 2022, we will work on elections up and down the ballot, with a focus on state legislative races that offer opportunities to elect progressive champions.
