Overview
Make the Road Action Pennsylvania (MRA PA) builds the power of Latine and working class communities of color through community organizing, advocacy, and civic engagement. Latine folks are the fastest growing demographic in Pennsylvania with nearly 1 in 10 being Latine, people of Puerto Rican decent making up the largest growth areas. We mobilize our members to take action on the key issues that shape our lives: from immigrant rights and environmental justice to affordable housing, education, healthcare, worker’s’ rights and other important issues.
For years, we’ve worked to ensure that our communities have a voice in the decisions that affect us most. Through education, organizing, and voter mobilization, we’re transforming collective power into lasting change across Pennsylvania.
Victories
MRA PA has won powerful campaigns that have transformed the lives of millions of immigrants, BIPOC, working class and poor people across Pennsylvania.
Some of our main victories include the Whole Home Repairs Program, a state level program to give money to low-income homeowners for repairs. We have also organized to win protections for immigrants in key municipalities from Allentown to Reading. And we continue to advocate for an increase in the minimum wage, driver's licenses for undocumented PA residents, and the protection of our voting rights.
In 2025, our team ran a voter outreach campaign that was successful in speaking to over 88,000 voters and knocking on 62,000 individual households that resulted in 5,000 direct conversations with voters. We had a large slate of races we engaged in, focusing on races that are key to passing our legislative priorities. Some of our top races were Philadelphia’s District Attorney, Reading’s City Council Districts 1, 5, President & Berks County Court of Common Pleas, Allentown City Council (3 At-large races) & Hazelton Government Study Candidates and Ballot Measure. Despite an impeachment attempt and years of attacks from Donald Trump and Republicans, Larry Krasner triumphed in Philadelphia’s Democratic Primary and clinched four more years as the city’s district attorney. Our endorsed candidates also won in the state Supreme Court and we were able to defeat a racist, anti-immigrant sheriff in Bucks County.
