Connecticut is a blue state, but our elected officials do not take uniformly progressive positions. Connecticut has a lot at stake in the 2018 elections. MRA in CT is located in Bridgeport and Hartford in two of the largest cities of the state.
MRA in CT is well positioned to play a key role in increasing voter participation in Latinx communities and communities of color and creating an environment where progressive issues dominate the campaign discussions.
At the federal level MRA in CT has the goal that all our elected officials become champions for immigrant and working families to resist the federal Administration.
MRA in CT’s federal priorities are:
· fighting Trump’s deportation force and resisting ICE’s raids, while protecting the advances that have been made in localities through non-cooperation policies
· protecting programs that support low income communities like Medicaid.
At the state level, our priorities are:
· fair workweek
· paid family leave
· school funding
· police accountability.
